GrammyFoundation Winner

The one and only,
Ms. Adele Fico,
has been inducted to the Women’s Hall of Fame! 
She was awarded the
Women’s Hall of Fame Lives and Legacy Award
for her contributions to Arts and Entertainment.  The ceremony is part of the MamaPalooza Festival 2009, which is a world-wide festival that honors women.

Visual Arts

The Visual Arts department is proud to announce a number of current exhibitions in the community and at SOTA

Amy Lin was honored by the School Board on September for the artwork which appears in this year's RCSD calendar. She received a framed enlargement of her charcoal piece and a
certificate of recognition.

 

Academics

Senior, Zoe Johnson has been recognized as a finalist in the National Merit Scholarship Competition.

Anjalene Whittier was awarded an internship, this Summer, in Washington, D.C. with the Library of Congress

 

 


Dance

Senior dance major Magdaliz Feliz has won the 2009 Monroe County Young Citizen of the year Award. 

Vocal Music

SOTA Senior Vocal Music Major Oscia Miles
1st Place in the Rochester Philharmonic Youth Orchestra Annual Competition
Winning the Tressa Martin Prize and being awarded $1,000 scholarship for college next year. Also, 1st Place in the Rochester Chapter of Omega Psi Psi Voice Competition –
Classical Division
